Copper maintains upward march


NEW DELHI: Copper prices maintained their upward march by adding Rs 2 a kg more on the local non-ferrous metal market today on increased demand from consuming industries amid a firm trend at the London Metal Exchange.

Marketmen said apart from a firm trend at the London Metal Exchange, increased demand from consuming industries mainly kept copper prices remained up.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months added $5 to $8,725 a metric tonne at LME. In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 454, Rs 478 and Rs 439 a kg.

Following were today’s quotations in Rs a kg: Tin ingot 815, zinc ingot 130.50, nickel plate (4x4) 1,005-1,007, gun metal scrap 226 bell metal scrap 228, copper wire scrap 454, copper wire bar 478, copper mixed scrap 439, Utensil scrap 224, Chadripital 1 75.

Lead ingot 134, lead imported 136, aluminium ingots 102, sheet cutting 105, aluminium wire scrap 102 and aluminium utensils scrap 102. - PTI
