New Delhi, May 28 -- Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) firm Reliance Power Ltd on Friday announced the acquisition of 433 MW (megawatt) of power generation assets from group company Reliance Infrastructure for Rs 1,095 crore. "The board of directors of the company at its meeting on Thursday decided to acquire 433 MW of generation capacity owned by Reliance Infrastructure for Rs 1,095 crore. This includes 220 MW at Samalkot in Andhra Pradesh, 165 MW in Kerala and 48 MW in Goa," Reliance Power said in a statement. The value of assets is based on independent valuation by global consulting firm KPMG.
RPL will now have over 1,000 MW of operating capacity and 600 MW of the Phase I of Rosa Power Project in UP.
RIL strikes 'significant' oil in Gujarat block
New Delhi, May 28 -- Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has announced an oil discovery, the fifth in a row, in its Cambay basin block in Gujarat. However, RIL did not give reserve estimates other than calling the discovery as "significant." The discovery was made in the exploration block CB-ONN-2003/1, which is located in the Cambay Basin, about 130 km from Ahmedabad. The discovery, named "Dhirubhai-48" has been notified to the government and the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons," the company said in a statement.
RIL is the operator of this block with a 100 per cent participating interest. The company had won the block in the fifth round of auction under the New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP).
