The German carmaker made improvements to the R-class' diesel engine, and the average transaction price rose $10,899, or 24.5%. It now sells for an average $55,467.

Chevrolet Suburban

By making it easier to buy popular features such as remote vehicle start, adjustable pedals and rear parking assist, GM watched the Suburban's transaction price rise nearly 21% to an average $51,383.

Toyota gave the FJ Cruiser more standard equipment and boosted the engine's output to 258 hp. Now it sells for an average $29,322, up 19% over the 2009 model.

The sleek new look for the 2010 Lacrosse has been well-received by consumers, who are willing to pay an average $4,890 more than the previous version. The typically equipped Lacrosse now sells for $32,521, up almost 18% over the 2009 model

Cadillac STS

GM introduced new, better-equipped styles on the 2010 STS, and the average transaction price rose $3,770 to $49,106.

Mercury Mariner

Ford raised prices on several of its Mercury brand vehicles by eliminating lower-end style levels. The typical Mariner now sells for $28,877, about $4,000 more than in 2009, after Ford dropped the entry-level four-cylinder engine.
